Agência FAPESP – The School of Food Engineering at the State University of Campinas (FEA-UNICAMP) is inviting interested researchers to participate in the São Paulo School of Advanced Science in FoodOmics, an event funded by FAPESP.
Linked to the São Paulo School of Advanced Science (ESPCA) program, the event aims to promote discussions and deepen scientific and technological knowledge to advance understanding of the potential of omics technologies in science, engineering, food technology, and nutrition.
ESPCA FoodOmics activities will take place from September 13 to 26 in Campinas, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The program will feature 14 speakers, including six Brazilians and eight international speakers.
Notable speakers at the School include: Alejandro Cifuentes, a professor at the Institute of Food Science Research in Spain and the creator of the term “FoodOmics”; Jianguo Xia, a professor at McGill University in Canada and the developer of the MetaboAnalyst platform; Mónica Cala Molina, a professor at the University of Los Andes in Colombia and the director of the Latin American Society of Metabolic Profiling; and Hector Henrique Ferreira Koolen, a professor at Amazonas State University and the coordinator of the Metabolomics Network of the Legal Amazon.
The ESPCA FoodOmics conference expects to welcome two hundred undergraduate and graduate students and researchers. The Scientific Committee will conduct the selection process, prioritizing the formation of a diverse audience in terms of race, gender, nationality, and place of origin.
Applications must be submitted by May 31, as detailed on the event website. The selected candidates will be announced on July 5.
