The event is part of the São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) program and will take place from August 3 to 13 at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in São Paulo.
The school will bring together leading foreign and Brazilian scholars, doctoral students, and policymakers for a ten-day immersion in the institutional dynamics that have shaped and continue to reshape regulatory governance in Latin America.
Speakers will include David Levi-Faur of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), Martin Lodge of the London School of Economics (United Kingdom), Mauricio Dussauge-Laguna of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), Manuela Moschella of the University of Bologna (Italy), and Alketa Peci of FGV, among others.
Topics covered will include regulatory capacity, agency autonomy and accountability, and emerging frontiers such as the central banking and climate risk, pharmaceutical patent regulation, competition policy in digital markets, and regulatory trust in healthcare.
The SPSAS will select 100 participants: 50 international students and 50 Brazilians. Registration is free and must be completed on the event website. All selected participants will receive full support, including transportation, lodging, and daily allowances.
