Agência FAPESP – Dedicated to graduate students in Physics and Astronomy, the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Multi-Messenger Astrophysics (MMA School) is organized by the University of São Paulo’s Physics Institute with help from Principia Institute, and will be held between May 29 and June 7 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Funded by FAPESP and also supported by the Principia Institute, which will host the event, the MMA School will bring a team of world-renowned experts on this emerging new area of astrophysics where light, gravitational waves, neutrinos and ultra-high energy cosmic rays combine to reveal hidden aspects of extreme phenomena.

Reporters are invited to register for the scientific sessions and short courses, which will present state-of-art science and results of new research.

There will be lectures on the main topics that connect the different messengers and the systems where these signals originate. The main introductory courses offered are:

• Very High Energy Gamma-Ray Astronomy – Alicia López Oramas (Instituto de Astronomia de Canarias)
• High Energy Neutrino Astrophysics – Carlos Arguelles Delgado (Harvard University)
• Gravitational Wave Astronomy – Irene di Palma (Sapienza Università di Roma)
• The Astrophysics of Black Hole Mergers – Zoltan Haiman (Columbia University)

Additional talks will be delivered by specialists on the latest trends in multi-messenger astrophysics.

Graduate students from all regions of the world working or planning to enter into this exciting new field of research are especially invited to apply. The school will select up to 100 researchers (50 seats for Brazilians and 50 for foreigners), and there is some level of financial support to help with travel and subsistence during the event.

For more information about how to apply, see www.institutoprincipia.org/en/mma-school.
