Agência FAPESP – São Paulo State University’s Institute of Theoretical Physics (IFT-UNESP) in São Paulo, Brazil, is organizing the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Disordered Systems, which will take place between April 28 and May 9, 2025.
Supported by FAPESP via its São Paulo School of Advanced Science Program (SPSAS), the event aims to reach a broad audience that includes students interested in complex research, bio-inspired applications, information science, and quantum materials.
The School will establish a common forum where theories of general interest can be discussed, foster the formation of new research lines in São Paulo and Brazil, and offer students the prospect of intellectual opportunities in the field of disordered systems.
Researchers and professors from Brazil and other countries who will take part in the School include José Soares Andrade (Federal University of Ceará, UFC, Brazil), Vivian França (UNESP, Brazil), Luis A. Pugnaloni (National University of La Pampa, Argentina), Jasna Brujic (New York University, USA), and Eduardo Miranda (University of Campinas, UNICAMP, Brazil), among others.
The organizers will provide additional funds to cover travel and local expenses for master’s and PhD students from South America and other parts of the world.
Applicants should use the registration form on the event website. Applications will be received until February 15, 2025. The School will select 80 students.
The activities will take place at IFT-UNESP, Rua Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz, 271, Bloco 2, Barra Funda, São Paulo.
